After having my fix of X-Files in HD on Netflix I would love to see the 90s version of The Outer Limits (which I think holds up better than the X-Files). Sadly there is still no complete DVD release

So what's currently the best release for this show?

The whole series was released on DVD in Canada. Only season 1 was released in the UK so I had to import the Canadian releases to complete the set. I think I remember reading somewhere that these releases were edited versions but I might be wrong. It was later released on DVD in Australia but again I think there were edits.

Because S1 didn't sell well, the rest of the seasons were treated like crap. The first season was released uncut in America first, but no more MGM releases after that. The rest were released by the Canadian company, but only S1 & S2 were uncut. Only one S2 episode was cut. The rest of the seasons are cut. Before the complete seasons were released. Those theme episode DVDs were released uncut, but I doubt they're easy to find given they most likely have been OOP for years.

Season 7 is also uncut, Since it was produced without any adult content because it had to air on the Sci-fi Channel.

Would love to see Kino Lorber release this since they also put out the original series on Blu-Ray and DVD, I would buy this even if it only came out on dvd as long as they release the uncut showtime versions.

How did they expect it to sell well when they barely promoted it.

When it comes to TV on DVD. You either buy it or you don't. I'm saying that's the way they look at it. Anything with poor sales doesn't get more releases unless another company takes over. Amazon does MOD releases for a lot of shows.
