Hi,
So I just started rewatching Everwood on Amazon Prime, looking great in HD. I was aware that many of the songs were replaced on dvd for seasons 2 to 4, but season 1 was intact. So I was very disappointed to see that now even season 1 has its music replaced on Amazon, and I have to assume other streaming services (Hulu) and Itunes? I don't know if anyone can confirm? So my question is, are you aware of other shows that have different music on dvd and on streaming? I'm assuming the rights are different, which is truly annoying. I'm aware of most of the shows that suffered from this on dvd, but I don't want any more unpleasant surprises online. I'm thinking of Dawson's Creek (is season 1 intact like on dvd?). I think I heard that Felicity now had a 3rd version with the LionsGate dvd re-release of 2012 (and streaming I would imagine) with even less expensive songs than the first original replacement ones. I'm not positive about that one at all, but that would be crazy. I know Charmed couldn't get the music rights for streaming. Any more examples? Thanks. |
