GILMORE GIRLS: A YEAR IN THE LIFE
Available on DVD and Digital Just in Time for Holiday Gift-Giving on November 28, 2017

Also Available on Blu-rayTM from Warner Archive Collection

BURBANK, CA (August 1, 2017) – We take you back to the nostalgic Stars Hollow for the ultimate revival of the adored series, Gilmore Girls. The coffee-loving, fast-talking, mother and daughter duo are back just as you remembered them as Warner Bros. Home Entertainment (WBHE) releases Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life on DVD on November 28, 2017. Take a stroll down memory lane with four 90-minute seasonal chapters, directed, written, and executive produced by series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino. Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will be priced to own on DVD at $24.98 SRP. The limited series will also be available to own on Digital on November 28, 2017.

To accommodate fan requests, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is also available on Blu-rayTM courtesy of Warner Archive Collection. The Blu-rayTM release includes the same content as the DVD, and is also arriving November 28, 2017. Warner Archive Blu-ray releases are found at Amazon.com and all online retailers.

Nearly ten years after the original series ended, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life begins, Lorelai still runs the Dragonfly Inn (and chugs coffee like it's water) and Rory, now 32, has experienced some career success. As Rory works through job-related struggles and Lorelai deals with some unresolved issues of her own, Emily Gilmore has been handling the loss of her dear husband, Richard. Emily is at a major crossroads in her life, recently widowed and trying to figure out what to do next. Richard's death forces Emily and Lorelai to finally reexamine their own fraught relationship, which hasn't changed much since the beginning of the series.

“Years after the original series ended and with 6 million DVD units sold, Gilmore Girls continues to have an incredibly loyal fan base. We are thrilled to be able to release this DVD for fans to complete their collections,” said Rosemary Markson, WBHE Senior Vice President, Television Marketing. “We will definitely miss our beloved friends from Stars Hollow, but this release will enable us to relive the final moments, laughs and loves of this incredible series over and over again.”

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life stars Lauren Graham (Parenthood), Alexis Bledel (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants), Kelly Bishop (The Good Wife) and Scott Patterson (Saw V, Saw IV), and Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife). The mini-series also includes special guest appearances by original cast members including Oscar nominee, Melissa McCarthy (Mike & Molly, Bridesmaids), Milo Ventimiglia (This Is Us), Liza Weil (How To Get Away With Murder), Jared Padalecki (Supernatural), Yanic Truesdale (Rumours), Keiko Agena (Transformers: Dark of the Moon) and Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy).

I might purchase this to support the show but probably won't because I don't want this portion of the show on blu and not the rest of it.

Definitely happy this is happening but we need the complete series also. Throw in Veronica Mars while you're at it WB.

I'll get the DVD. I have no plans to upgrade my series collection to BD, so they'll be fine all as the same format.

This is very surprising, I wouldn't have expected it at all. I will eventually get it but I have so much else this month and then in October and I'm guessing at least $60 for Black Friday so it will have to wait.

If we eventually get Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars on BD it'd probably be through WAC and be so expensive that I'd have to get one every couple months lol

Was that cover art pit together in ms paint, my god. The whole point of having those sections I'd to show a collage of student inverted not bisect the same picture, and they did it twice!

I also reaaaally want the regular series to make it to blu-ray. I'd rewatch that far more often than this (which, ugh).

While I'll stop buying a show that drops BD in favor of DVD only (i.e. Modern Family), I'll gladly switch to BD for a show that has BDs for latter seasons (i.e. Futurama). But to each their own obviously. That said, I have no experience with this show and most likely wont be purchasing this in the near future.

Like you, I stopped purchasing "Modern Family" on physical media when they pursued the DVD-only route; I'll probably do the same with this "Gilmore Girls" series. Ideally, I'd love to see the original series ported to Blu-ray (I'll still hold onto my DVD sets though).

That's what I would do also. If a show drops the BD format, I will not buy the DVDs... but if the older seasons are DVD only but later move to BD as well, then I'll get the BD sets and just keep the DVDs until the BD sets are released (if ever).

I cannot wait for this! So exciting! Day 1, I don’t care the price.

I wish the cover was taken from the promos they took for the series though.

SRP is $24.98 for the DVD, and the WAC stuff usually runs about $10ish more.. so I'd say about maybe $25-30 actual retail price depending on which site you look on.

Day one for sure!! I love the whole series since the very beginning! I truly hope they release the previous seasons someday, I gave my DVDs to my mom (since I can watch the series on Netflix), but I would prefer to get them on Blu-ray.

The cover, however, is very disappointing. I don't like that light greenish tint all over the place, and Luke's picture is far from the best... I'll certainly do a Custom Cover for this, and here is a very early work in progress. I'll complete the cover when all the stats will be known:

Is it normal for the blu-ray release to not be available for pre-order by now? I only see the DVD everywhere... I'm getting worried.
