Default Nazarin

Nazarin by Luis Bunuel was beautifully restored, and the blu ray version is now available from Elephant films. Los Olvidados and El were also released in blu ray by IVC in Japan (the former is also a splendid restoration, but the latter was not perfect. Both have only Japanese subtitle). I have been waiting for Bunuel films during his Mexican years for a long time, and we should celebrate at least those three films are available now.

Unfortunately Nazarin has only French subtitle. I urge you to purchase this blu ray if you could read French, because this work is such a masterpiece, and it is unforgettable tour de force.

I hope to see another his films in Mexican years will be released soon. Especially EL (needs to be restored), Wuthering Heights, The Young One, and Susana. They are all great works. I just don't understand no company other than IVC tried to produce Los Olvidados in blu ray after the film had been restored a couple of years ago. All I see is the bunch of nonsense films to be released repeatedly, and these works are forgotten.
