Just crushing news, for a lot of us Eddie and VH were the soundtrack to our formative years, especially if you grew up in the 80's.

He's my #1 musical hero, and always will be - met him (ok kinda waited outside the Four Seasons and pounced) in 1998 and he was gracious and kind.

The most innovative guitarist of our time is gone, extremely sad.

Nothing beats his work on Van Halen I, Fair Warning, and 1984. Rest in Peace Eddie, god knows you've earned it.

This has been a dark cloud for me all week. I love listening to them, but it's very bittersweet right now. I'm definitely hearing them with even more reverence than I had before (I'm a guitarist for 40+ of my 50+ years).

I just heard about this.
Young me hates that he's gone, current me... Well, it sucks, but if he wasn't such a lying *ssh*l* and backstabber in real-life, I'd feel upset

Man Gold, a little harsh there no?

The man fought cancer for years and passed, from what I knew he made his amends with those he had disagreements with long ago. Band members fight all the time and break up, crap happens and to be salty about something from closer to a half CENTURY ago then not, is not a good way to go through life.
