Yeah I never cared for Ace Ventura at ALL, but I cant see anyone but Carrey doing that role, and I dont see the point in even trying.

Young Guns could probably be more successfully rebooted, though I wish it wouldn't - I love both the original films.

Yes, I absolutely loved the beginning theme and ending theme for Young Guns 1.

The score was very westerny, adventurous, and like a superhero theme all rolled into one.

You can't reboot movies like this because they are of their time with one off cast rosters.

'Young Guns' only really worked because of the 80's brat pack casting and the Bon Jovi soundtrack in the sequel. You can't recapture that.

'Ace Ventura' is purely Jim Carrey. No one else will come close and they will always be compared negatively to Carrey's performance. Plus both movies were generally crap, they only worked because of Carrey.

Again 'Major League' was a typically trashy 80's adult comedy that worked because of the classic casting. Sheen, Snipes, Berenger and Bersen. Heck even the sequel couldn't recapture that 80's charm.

All these films were lightning in a bottle.

Just awful ideas. Jim IS Ace. Anyone ever try to watch Ave Ventura Jr??? Case closed.

Also, I think Young Guns and Major League both worked because of their great casts. Looks at Major League 3, where it was almost all new faces....it bombed.

How about they just focus on putting Ace 1-2, ML 2-3 and Guns 2 on Blu-Ray???

Ace Ventura is my favorite comedic movie character of all time.

The "good" news might be that Morgan Creeck already announced this in september 2015. It's old news and might never happen. Let's hope. Cause it's absolutely insane and makes no sense at all.

Edit : Ow, I see they have more concrete plans now. Well, it's just the same as my opinion on Indiana Jones, create something new! And don't use the brand "Ace Ventura", create a new character and use his name. "INSERT NAME : PET DETECTIVE". And let a new comedian do his very own thing with a new character. Don't copy Carrey. I would be alright with that.

I was still kinda hoping for a final Ace Ventura case, though. That ship has sailed for sure now.

Normally this is where I’d be protesting the very idea but Hollywood never asked me and will ignore me anyways. So go ahead and do it even though they’ll be awful. Put your all female cast on these male lead films and get it over with so they can bomb at the box office and end up at the bottom of the Blu-ray bargain bin for $5 at Best Buy. I really don’t care because I won’t see any of them anyway.
