The CW Friday announced early renewals for its Hart of Dixie and Beauty and the Beast. In addition, the network ordered The Vampire Diaries spin-off The Originals to series.

The series join Arrow, The Vampire Diaries & Supernatural, which were previously renewed for the 2013-2014 season.

I loved the first episode, the preview made it look like the same old Klaus crap you see on TVD. Glad it was more than Klaus just wanting to be in control of everyone & everything for no reason.

I haven't seen the backdoor pilot yet, but I love Rebekah and Elijah, so I'll most likely watch the show.

I think this is a good move. TVD was getting bogged down with all the Original stuff. Now that show has room to breathe again (and hopefully rewrite Elena to not be so insufferable.) I wouldn't be surprised if I end up liking The Originals better than TVD, like what happened with Angel and Buffy. I just hope the show doesn't get ruined with the

IDK about anyone else, but the part you have in your spoiler kind of reminded me of Angel.

The Originals will air Tuesdays at 8:00 (Eastern), followed by Supernatural. I'm a little surprised this didn't get the Thursday slot following The Vampire Diaries, but maybe they thought audiences would get tired of 2 shows that are very similar airing back-to-back.

Ya I'm stoked ha ha(want 2 get Stoker when the $ lowers!) 4 the CW season. I have not watched any programs off of CW, so this will b a 1st 4 me!

Looking 4ward 2 The Originals, The 100, & The Tomorrow People of the one's so far that I've seen trailers on!!

Hope 2 c more great programs like these, that will be shown on tv!!!

The Originals storyline has dragged on to long in my opinion. But getting their own show interests me, hopefully it's something different.

The series premiere of THE ORIGINALS will now debut on a special night and time on Thursday, October 3, 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET, the network announced today.

THE ORIGINALS series premiere will follow the season premiere of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, which is bowing one week earlier than previously announced, Thursday, October 3, 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET, giving THE ORIGINALS the additional exposure of premiering behind the network's highest-rated series.

The following week, THE ORIGINALS will then move to its regularly scheduled night and time Tuesday, October 8, 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET.
