Scream Factory will be releasing Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984) on 4K UHD in December for it's 40th Anniversary! Just the theatrical cut will be in 4K, while the Unrated will be on Blu-ray with SD inserts.

Easter Egg: This release contains a hidden easter egg with a VHS version of the film (uncut). To access it, follow the steps mentioned in the post below (credit to Katatonia):

This is exciting but yea it's probably the R Rated cut..but still it's cool. If it's the Unrated version, maybe they'll use AI on the rough footage like Universal did with JAWS 3.....just kidding.

I'll likely end up getting this, even if they won't include a 4K disc of the unrated cut. I'm just hoping they take the time to do clean up on the scan to remove all the damage/debris that's on the current BD release.

And count me in as one of the people hoping the negative for Part 2 is located and scanned soon. My time on earth will not be complete until I see SN,DN part 2 in 4K,

It's an absolute delight. Eric Freeman was snubbed by the Academy. The eyebrows alone deserved Best Actor.

As much as I love this slasher, I'm fully expecting the R-rated cut to be the one on the UHD...

Love it. The Blu-ray was pretty stunning and figured a 4K was coming eventually. I'm honestly fine if it's just the R rated cut since the unrated footage is VHS sourced (I believe).

The shift in quality is just too jarring but it should definitely be included as a bonus. I'm sure it'll be identical to the previous Blu-ray otherwise.
