Default Are there any Blu-ray movies you regret purchasing?

Are there any movies in your collection that make you go “what was I thinking” wanting to buy this? Or maybe it was a blind buy that you just didn’t like.

What was it about them you regretted? I personally really like both of those films but to each their own.

Not the films, I think they're fantastic. The transfers looked like ass.

The VVitch (blind buy that I didn't like, literally sold it the day after watching it)

Yeah. I learned early after this. Blind buys are 5 bucks and under only! Dollar tree Blus are fun. Even if the movie stinks, the case is worth a buck. The only stuff I'll blind buy at a higher price is Marvel/DC, or a sequel to a franchise I collect.

No because if I didn't like it, it's not in my collection. I go through my collection once in a while and often end up taking some stuff out and selling it. I don't keep movies that I don't like.

The Haunting in Connecticut comes to mind.

There are some BD releases that were mediocre and later re-issued remastered that I regret buying (Patton, The Terminator, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Total Recall etc.)

Only one and I just bought it a few months ago: Escape Plan. When I first saw it 5 years ago, I loved it. Then I finally bought the Blu-ray this past summer, watched it for a second time and I regretted my purchase. I definitely did not like it very much on a second viewing. Hopefully that's the only time that happens. I don't do blind buys so there's that too.

I blind-bought Eyeball (1975) recently. One of the worst films I’ve ever seen. I usually don’t blind-buy, but I’ve kinda had to in some cases (when I can’t find the film on streaming or Netflix DVD).

Ghost in the Shell 2.0. Figured since the original was on there, it would be okay to go ahead and get. The 2.0 version with the CGI "enhancements" looks terrible, and the included original looks like a VHS transfer. I'm better off just upscaling my DVD.

All of them. I'd have an extra $14,000 or so.

Captain America (1990). It's not the film itself, its quite fun to laugh at. But the release includes no English subtitles, which I could normally do without, but the audio is pretty bad to begin with and tons of characters have heavy Italian accents in the film.

This might ruffle some feathers and I know y'all gonna judge me, but:

Scarface steelbook for I think $5 or $6 (blind buy). I figured with the high imdb score and being regarded as a classic then it'd be a slam dunk favorite. I saw it one time. The extras were interesting.

Although I do admit to replaying Tony Montana's speech in the car 'first you get the money, then you get the power, then you get the women' scene a few times. And I get that its an influential movie that was different than movies released at the time, but maybe just not my cup of tea.
