Hitchcock was great for a longer period of time. As much as I love Jaws, Close Encounters, Indiana Jones 1 & 2, Schindler's List, 1941, Sugarland Express, and Duel. I feel like Spielberg has been running at low octane for the last 25 years and churning out some decent but but largely forgettable movies.

Love both beyond words. Hitch is definitely the more innovative and unprecedented. Hitch is definitely a genius.

The first one of these I've seen that I'm actually in the majority. Spielberg has a few hits but I think he's way overrated.

Not picking one--- they're both pinnacles of Cinema--- and their movies and directing style are soooooo different. Who's to say one is better than the other?

Hitchcock is in a league of his own. I picked Spielberg because I grew up with so many of his films.
