Yes. Zavvi are a UK based retailer although they do have various international versions of their site including in US and Europe.

BTW I think this is a UK exclusive of Backdraft on UHD as Universal never released this here when it came out internationally a couple of years ago. Not sure if it indicates a standard version will also follow in the UK or if Zavvi have just imported some UHD discs from Universal in Europe or US.

BBFC certification wouldn't be an issue as Universal UK are covered by their rating of the DVD or BD and aren't required to make a new certification as there are no changes to the film on the UHD.

No we're getting a standard release as well. It's up to pre-order on Amazon.

Damn! I held off for so long but finally caved in November and imported the standard 4K through Amazon UK. Cost about £20 so I can't justify double-dipping to get this, as good as it looks.

While it was a decent film, for me personally it doesn't deserve a steelbook.
Plenty others Universal could have chosen, and they go with this

Couldn’t disagree more. This was one of the best films of the early 90’ with an amazing ensemble cast, impressive effects, beautiful cinematography and a narrative that packs a punch. Perfect example of a big event/popcorn film that actually checks all the boxes as opposed to being just dumb mindless fun. Personally my favorite film from Ron Howard.

And the sound, the sound. When they said the fire was alive, you could truly imagine that, with the combination of audio and visual effects. I really need to fire up my US 4K (pardon the pun) and hear it in all its glory. Even without Atmos, it should sound amazing.
