Default Jess Franco Recommendations.

I loved Sinister Eyes of Dr. Orloff. I liked his Count Dracula film. Some people say Jean Rollin is similar and I love his stuff, but I see them as different. Nevertheless, I watched Eugenie De Sade and got to where they were driving to another city I think and killed someone. That one did not hold my attention well, but it was the English dub. I watched the Eyes of Dr. Orloff in Spanish.

I prefer horror and have no issues with nudity as long as sex scenes are not the main focus of a film. Just unsure which Franco films I should approach next. Any recommendations from those who have seen more of his work would be great.

Someone in the dedicated Jess Franco thread had recommended Vampyros Lesbos and Female Vampire, while another had suggested A Virgin Among the Living Dead, Nightmares Come at Night and Exorcism. I'd second the vote for Virgin, and add Awful Dr. Orlof. Just take your time getting to Oasis of the Zombies and Silence of the Tomb!

I should have found that thread sooner. I'll post in that thread next time but going check out a few of the ones you suggested first. If the moderators delete threads here they can go ahead and delete this one.

A Virgin Among the Living Dead is pretty damn great. Very spooky.

I read a marvelous comment from Ken Begg of Jabootu.net the other day - http://jabootu.net/?p=18575

Quote:
Although Tim Lucas argued that no one has the grounds to criticize any Jess Franco film until you've seen all his movies.

That was the exact moment, and I'm not exaggerating, when I realized that Tim Lucas is insane.
