Default Horror Franchises: 1933 - 1982 ~ How Many Have You Seen? (1)

Movies must have two sequels to qualify, or one sequel and a remake.
I left out the Puppetmaster series (and Gingerdead) because the Full Moon-Verse is too complicated for me. Also not included is the original Frankenstein (Dracula, Invisible Man) and the Predator and vs. Aliens movies.
I did include a few spin-offs (Prometheus), and probably forgot a few.
Movies are sorted by release date in ascending order.
How many have you seen?

I'm not sure why leave out Frankenstein. I get 1933's Dracula because there are no direct sequels to it per se. But Universal's Frankenstein franchise definitely has direct continuity. Which is why I prefer the Frankenstein movies over Dracula's.

According to IMDb Frankenstein is followed by The Invisible Man, followed by Bride of Frankenstein, followed by Dracula's Daughter etc They don't list the Frankenstein movies separately. And I didn't want to risk goofing up this Monster-verse by leaving something out or adding something that shouldn't.

That's odd because I've seen both Frankenstein and The Invisible Man, and I don't see the connection. Sure, they take place in the same universe, but you really don't have to see one to understand the other.

Very few, really:
Psycho (which I actually don’t really consider a horror movie)
The Exorcist
Jaws (which I also don’t consider a horror)
Carrie
Alien
The Evil Dead

I also don’t really understand why the Frankenstein movies are not included...

I've never considered any King Kong movie as a horror movie.
