The film is obviously made by an insane person but I genuinely enjoyed it. There were some parts with community theatre level acting, but then really great performances in the same scene. Honestly say what you want about the film but this was an absolute experience. I cant wait for the bonus features

Watched the 4K Italian release last night. The video is gorgeous and the audio was excellent. (Atmos for Italian language, Dolby Digital for English.) I was surprised to find an audio commentary track by FFC. He's not as verbose as he is on other commentary tracks, but he offers quite a bit of insight and explanation of his artistic choices. It definitely gave me a greater appreciation for the film.

There are a few, minor cases where there is Italian instead of English and one scene where actors are speaking latin and the on-screen translation is in Italian. But these were so minor that it doesn't distract from the film. All the "etched in stone" title cards are in English.

I wouldn't say it is the best, but it is not the "mess" that everyone has proclaimed it to be. It got better on the second viewing once I understood better what Coppola was going for. It's an audacious film that challenges the audience, but it is not a disaster.

Is there a reason there is no HDR disc so far? Is it a cost thing, that an HDR grade is not available and it would cost too much to create one?
Also we have yet to hear about when Mike Figgis's behind the scenes documentary on the film will release.. |

ITA disc is the first 4K disc (other ones are about to come), and it looks like it doesn't feature HDR10: let's see if other discs will get it

Edit It looks like it is a Coppola's decision: no HDR on 4K discs Last edited by bradipolpo; 02-18-2025 at 08:05 AM. |
