It's nice to see this finally on bluray. I bought it from CDJapan. The image is good, it looks like the same restoration that Malavida released on DVD in France. Japanese subtitles only, though I have the option to add external subs on my Oppo player.
The one issue I'm having is that the movie definitely has some kind of Soap Opera Effect applied to it. It looks like the frame rate was bumped up. Is this common practice in Japan? Do Japanese tvs display frame rates differently? I checked the settings on my tv and played some other discs. The rest play as they normally do. |
