I'd have to guess it would... Netflix has the head crushing scene... I'm not fully decided on it, as I just watched it recently.. maybe at a decent price I'll go for it.. I paid $9 for my Nuke Em High and thats about what I'm looking for this...

My high school friends and I used to rent The Toxic Avenger all of the time back in the VHS days of the late 1980s. I have not seen it since, but the entire flick is pretty much etched in my memory.
This is one of those movies that is so utterly wrong that it almost comes around full circle to being right again. When I die one day and have to face my judgment at the gates, I'll probably get docked several points for laughing at the scene where the guy shoots the dog while robbing a restaurant and at the scene where the blind girl is looking at a "braille mirror." |

along the same lines - I hope the bluray of the first Toxie will include both the unrated cut and the extended 98 minute Japanese cut of the film? |

The Toxic Avenger is probably the film most closely identified with Troma, but Troma is definitely not averse to licensing their films to other distributors [Show spoiler] . They also haven't been all that willing to take any risks with the format on their own, having released only two films, Father's Day and The Taint, to Blu-Ray in the past 3.5 years.Lest we forget, Troma licensed the shit out of The Toxic Avenger in the early 90's with a cartoon series, comics, toys, and video games. Apparently they even licensed a movie option of the cartoon series to New Line Cinema at one point. I wouldn't be all that surprised to see another Mother's Day scenario, where the distributor handling the remake also picks up a license to the home video rights for the original. |
