Are the 4K UHD releases with English (and - who knows - Dutch) Subtitles?

Most Blu Ray releases only have the Scandinavian subtitles, I noticed?

Sorry for a late reply. There should be info about subtitles for every release.

I think there are these categories:
1. "Global" releases with Norwegian/Nordic cover: will have English (and Dutch) subtitles. These will most likely not be with Nordic audio.

2. Nordic releases of foreign movies. These will most likely only be licensed to the Nordic countries, and not have English subs for English audio, French subs for French audio et cetera.

3. Norwegian movies with foreign distribution: will most likely not have English subs. Example: Norwegian release of Dead Snow 2 has no English subs, UK release was based on the English version filmed concurrently with the Norwegian. Troll hunter was released without English subs originally, and later in a Norwegian special edition with English subs for the foreign market/tourists.

4. Norwegian movies with no foreign distribution. These might get English subs to make them viable for export. An example is the new series of Norwegian Classics which have English subs.

And then there are exemptions to all these probably.

If there is a specific release you wonder about, please ask.
