Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash 4K UHD

Mobile Suit Gundam: Hathaway’s Flash will be recieving a 4K UHD Blu-ray in Japan on 26 November, 2021 from Bandai Namco Arts.

The film was released in Dolby Cinemas, so it is safe to assume HDR10 at bare minimum will be included, and presumably, Dolby Vision. In addition, this appears to potentially be the first native Dolby Atmos anime production, as there have been no indications of it being a remix (and there being no 5.1 or 7.1 standalone options). An LPCM 2.0 Stereo mix is also included on the BD-100

English and Japanese subtitles are included.

Probably lower resolution than 1080p as evidenced by the ringing and aliasing. IMDB is not the most reliable source.

Hello World also had a Dolby Atmos mix and I think it was the native mix.
Also, Gothicmade was made in 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos, but the director did not want a 1080p downscale for a home video release, yet there is still no 4K UHD release.

Apparently the pre-order bonus you can get is an A4 illustration sheet by the character designer. Is this like a genuine sheet used during the animation process, or is it like a reproduction of a particular drawing?

I think these bonuses in Japan are the latter.

Hmm, I thought so. I'm wondering if going for the more expensive option with the bonus is even worth it then. But we don't even know what the art will look like yet so I'm undecided for now.

Amazon Japan (and other shops) often have a small bonus included for $10-20 more. It's up to the buyer to decide if it's worth it or if they're find with "only" the base product.
