Harry Bradbeer is directing the adaptation of the books by Nancy Springer. Cavill has joined Millie Bobby Brown to star in Enola Holmes, Legendary’s adventure project based on the Enola Holmes Mysteries book series.

Springer's book series, which began with The Case of the Missing Marquess in 2006, comprises six books and tells the tale of Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes' much younger sister, Enola, who turns out to be a highly capable detective in her own right.

Cavill will play Sherlock Holmes opposite Brown's Enola Holmes. Bonham Carter will play Enola's mother, according to sources.

Jack Thorne wrote the script for the story, which involves a missing teen whose father has been murdered.

Good for him....shows that his presence is getting more & more in demand. Sad though that WB has sat with their thumbs up their asses while a goldmine passes them by while we get no Man of Steel 2 (now that The Witcher is done filming) or any more Cavill Superman appearances.

Batman v Superman was the Superman sequel. It's more a shame that WB fumbled so hard and dumped Snyder without him properly finishing his trilogy.

Anyway, this should be fun. I love the cast!

Looks fun, but either it's a bit "Meh..." or Netflix need to hire new people to cut trailers, as a lot of their stuff looks so average.

I was thinking about it the other day, Netflix's flicks seem to be on the level of the tapes you used to rent when all the popular features were on loan, yes, there are some hidden gems, but there's a lot of junk there too.

But they need new people to cut their trailers, this is one of the better ones, but everything seem to look the same. I guess people aren't watching their content based on their trailers.

It may well be suggested as fan fiction, but if you are going to use the character of Sherlock Holmes, then the character needs to have been officially licensed from the Doyle Estate. SH isn't in the public domain in the US or Europe, even though Doyle died in 1930 (unlike the majority of works from Robert E Howard D.1936 and H G Wells, D.1947).
