Question Anybody else glitching?

Ive noticed on quite a few of my bds (from what i can remember: Cast Away, Die Hard 3 and at least 2 more) that at certain points the movie just freezes and skips ahead a minute or so and if you go back its all good... is this common? i have the 60G ps3 i bought this summer brand new fully updated and the titles its happened on were all brand new and still sealed until moments before being played... the ps3 hadnt been running for days (on folding@home) before the movies were played.... anyways... its not too cool and wondering if its a problem with the ps3 or the disc and if its happened to anyone else

My BD's will skip like a second forward sometimes. They don't skip a minute forward though so it's not a big deal. I'm not sure if the BD's are the problem or if it's the PS3. Either way, it's not a big deal for me, I don't really miss any of the movie, but yes this does happen to me too.

never seen this happening on over 50 blu rays that have been olayed on my 60 gig ps3 uk.

id guess its bad discs if its just a few titles because if it was ps3 it would happen more often

I had a small freeze on Apocalypto, but that's it out of all my discs I've watched.

Lightbulb Hdmi?

I think it is HDMI handshake issues.

Although it may rarely happen for 1 second in any movie, the place is random so there's nothing wrong with the disc.

I would blame HDMI before anything else.

Some manufacturers are worse than others. Many work well within their own brand, but not well with others.

My original Sony BD player never had that issue with my Sony TV.

Now that I have a Panasonic player (with a Pioneer receiver in the middle), I don't know who the culprit is.

dont know mabey try a decient lens cleaner if there is one to try it.

whenever stuff like this happens to me i always try to eliminate the small stuff first.

i remember i used to work in a pc repair shop and the amount of people who used to bring in there pc to be fixed and it would turn out that a fuse had went on the power cord.ALWAYS check the small stuff

Sounds like the old problem with the old firmware. What FW are you running? I had this problem when I first got my 60gig. What fixed it was resetting the PS to the default settings. And when I mean default, I don't just mean the video settings, I mean everything including your internet settings.

I'm going by memory here so don't sue me if this isn't 100% accurate.

I had to turn off the main power (in the back) and then power it up while holding my finger on the power button PAST THE SECOND BEEP. I don't recall if it beeps after that but it probably does. Let it boot up normally.

Like I said. This wipes out ALL your settings so you'll have to go back in and restore you internet etc... but it did fix the problem.

I have 67 movies and The Die Hards are there and I have never experience this problem. I am using Sony BDP S1 and have 3.2 firmware.
