USA Men Behind the Sun 4K UHD (1988)

Wow, here’s one I never expected. Looks like Massacre Video is jumping into the UHD market. Check out the logo on the spine (warning: graphic cover art): https://twitter.com/MassacreVideo/st...143137793?s=20

This is probably the most disturbing movie I’ve ever seen and I was already excited for the BD, but this is even better!

And yet another company gets in the game ahead of Criterion.

I guess one issue as has been evidenced by the Friday The 13th boxset. Is certain licences might be harder to obtain for UHD.

Though I don't exactly see what was the pressing issue with The Elephant Man.

Paramount reportedly isn’t licensing physical UHD rights to anyone.

Aye that's the one. And if they don't come good on Ghost and Airplane. Then that's pretty telling of their own intent.

Never heard of this, so I was just reading about it. Not too sure I can hang.

Yeah, I’d approach this one with caution if you’re not into this kind of stuff. It’s about as extreme as they come.

Yeah I pointed that out on their FB post a little while ago. Never seen this all the way through but will buy to support UHD.

In the comments section accompanying the original blu-ray announcement there’s mention of some quite horrible sounding animal cruelty in this.
Cruelty to humans is one thing, but cruelty to cats is something I definitely wouldn’t be able to stomach.

As much as I want to support every boutique label getting into UHD, I think this is going to have to be a try before I buy.

I’ve heard many things about this, not many pleasant

Same, and I can't believe I held off for so long a UHD release was announced before I got around to seeing it.

Nice addition to the format but I think I'll pass, as well. I didn't know this movie existed but I've read enough about Unit 731 to know I don't really need to see a movie about it.

I can't open the twitter with my mobile device. Where is the STANDARD Blu-ray from this like they announced it in the first place??? Is this a combo? I don't own 4K set and I couldn't care less about uhd.

There’s no way they’d JUST do UHD. I’m sure it’ll be a combo if it’s only one release.

I sure as hell hope so. Feels like you just can't be 100% sure for anything any more. Why in the hell they didn't tell the status about it now at the same time?? Annoying little things like that are becoming like some kind of a virus in the business more and more these days at the announcements.
