I've been looking for plastic sleeves that are cut to the dimensions of Blu-ray disc cases but haven't found any. Ones for standard and slim DVD cases are readily available, however.
31h-04O3E0L.jpg Has anyone seen any that are made for Blu-ray cases? If so, where can I get them? |

Yep, the HD DVD bags from Bags Ulimited are the ones I use. They even fit over most slipcovers. The Polypropylene ones are crystal clear.
http://www.bagsunlimited.com/p-3455-...-5-78-x-7.aspx You used to be able to request samples from BU to try them out before you buy them. I've also seen shitty ones that came from ebay. The ones from ebay were too big and the sides were perforated. Just get the polypropylene ones from Bags Unlimited. They are the best. Last edited by HyperRealist; 01-25-2012 at 06:38 AM. |

Great video, they look like quality sleeves! I like that the adhesive strip is on the body of the sleeve rather than on the flap. When the strip is on the flap, it tends to stick to the case as it is inserted into the sleeve. Will keep that eBay seller in my address book. I've already ordered my Blu-ray sleeves from Bags Unlimited and await their arrival.
I noticed that Bags Unlimited also sells polyethylene sleeves for Blu-ray cases. Has anyone ever used these? They are thicker (2.5 mil vs 1.5 mil for the polypropylene). I've always used polypropylene bags for my DVD collection; they are ultra-clear and seem to last forever. However, they appear to be getting thinner. The last time I bought a batch, they were onion-skin thin and tore easily at the seams. They must have been 0.5 mil thick! I remember Sleeve City used to sell really good ones, thick and strong, and they rarely tore. I wonder if the thicker polypropylene sleeves are still being made. |

The Bags Unlimited polypropylene ones are nice and thick. I got a sample of the polyethylene ones before. They are too thick and milky. The bags I have for regular DVDs I got from ebay. They are real thin compared to BU's bags.

maybe.
the thing is if I can get this company to start carrying side seal bags then you won't even know there is a bag on the bd looking at it in a shelf. That's what is so cool about side seal bags. There is no edge that falls along the spine of the case. You can have a whole row of bagged bds arranged like books and they look like nothing is on them. ![]() personally I can't imagine not having my collection bagged. Once you've done it for so long--I started with my whole dvd collection--it seems weird not to have each copy bagged. Last edited by Arkadin; 01-26-2012 at 07:53 PM. |

I pulled out my Godfather trilogy today and it had a thick layer of dust on the top of the slip-box. It's been sitting in a shelf for about a year, so that's natural I guess. I'll protect the Blu's I think need protecting. That includes slips, slip-boxes, box-sets, etc etc. As far as regular old blue cases, they're tough enough where you can easily wipe them off every so often with a dust cloth. |

Out of curiosity, how exactly is slipcover an "investment" exactly? Why don't you just rent a storage facility and put all your blu-rays there so that it's impossible for them to get damaged? Granted, you won't be able to see them on a daily basis, but functionally, it's the same, since you won't be watching the discs when they're in those bags anyway.
