Lightbulb Tarantino the genius

I’ve read that all Tarantino movies take place in the same universe - Google Tarantinoverse for proof but just spotted one in Reservoir Dogs:

alabama reference in reservoir dogs - Google Search
I noticed Mr.White- Harvey Keitel referencing someone named Alabama in Reservoir Dogs and…you guessed it, the Tarantinoverse exists. All his movies are intertwined, like Pulp Fiction- Lee Donowitz(movie producer in True Romance who loves war movies) is the son of Donnie ‘’ The Jew Bear’’ Doniwitz in Inglorious Basterds. Now tell me who’s a better film maker than T? He’s supposed to write books & hope he writes the Vega Brothers novel that should’ve been a movie.

Now I'm sure all Tarantino screenplays/movies connected. Watching Resetvoir Dogs on hbo & Mr.White-Harvey Keitel references working with Alabama. Has to be a connection there somewhere in an unseen Tarantino script. Maybe makes sense that Reservoir Dogs takes place before Pulp Fiction. Also, Joe Cabot ( the big old white boss asks Mr.White-Kitel-The Wolf- what happen to Marcellus didn't he used to move your ice? Genius IQ

Read Pulp Fiction is supposed to be Prequel to Reservoir Dogs and there were originally supposed to be diamonds in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction but Tarantino thought too mundane- but the diamond link between the films would be another sign. Hope he writes a Vega Brothers novel after his final film. I’d buy that one. I can hear Vince & Vick’s voices in my head right now.

He has two universes:

1. Pulp, Dogs, Basterds, Django and H8 all reference each other and exist in the same universe and while Hollywood doesn't have any hard references to anything in the others aside from Red Apple (but those are also referenced in the second universe to it doesn't really count) it can be argued that Hollywood is the culmination of the events in history in Tarantino's revisionist films so IMO it def counts

2. KB and Death Proof exist in the same universe within that first universe. Tarantino explained that in this universe within a universe KB and DP (heh) are movies that characters in the first universe would go see in theaters. KB and DP also hard reference each other and have the overlapping character of Sheriff McGraw who apparently can crossover into the first universe (tarantino's words) but that hasn't even happened in the movies.

3. Jackie Brown doesn't count in either and Tarantino has said it's because it was an adaptation so it exists in its own world.

And lastly he'll reuse dropped or deleted characters and scenes in other things. The most recent example in the Hollywood novel where:

[Show spoiler]a chapter detailing Sharon Tate hitchhiking from Texas to Hollywood she is picked up by a cowboy and his name is Ace Woody. That is the name of the Mandingo handler that Kevin Costner signed on to then dropped out of playing in Django Unchained. It was then given to Kurt Russell who left the role a few days into filming it and finally those scenes and character were just merged into Goggins' Billy Crash

I really enjoy all of his films... and yes they definitely all take place in the same contained universe.

It's fun to notice the connections.

Earl McGraw was also in From Dusk till Dawn.

true but that is neither Tarantino-directed and it still would exist in the KB/DP wacky second universe.

Einstein was an idiot savant in some ways, he was a genius when it came to his field but a lot of basic concepts and ideas were beyond him.

Churchgoing weirdos also like to point to Einstein for his religious beliefs, as if Einstein believing in a sky man or a divine creator refutes the reality that they all find so uncomfortable.

The Elmore Leonard Universe as both films are adaptations of his works.

I think they’re referring to the fact that Michael Keaton played the same role in both films.

I love everything Tarantino has been involved in. He's my favourite movie maker and I've often said that I feel like every thing he does is aimed directly at me as an audience... but I'm a godamned moron... so... genius? I don't think so..
I have to admit, that having listened to him being interviewed, I think I might find him insufferable in person. There's something to be said for never meeting your idols in person as they probably wouldn't be able to match your lofty expectations. I'll just let the work stand on it's own merits and await his final film.

As an aside, the criminally underrated LIFE OF CRIME (2013) serves as nice prequel to the JACKIE BROWN, OUT OF SIGHT universe with an early adventure featuring Ordel and Louis. It's got a great cast including John Hawkes and Yasmin Bey filling in for Deniro and Samuel L as well as Jennifer Aniston and Will Forte..

Well most of the film makers that Tarantino ripped all his ideas from for a start.

Fellini, Bergman, Ozu, Kurosawa, Lang, Hiotchcock, Welles, Ford, Coppola, Powell, Wilder and many more.

I have to say that I always enjoy his films much more than those of the directors / genres / styles he is supposedly "ripping off"...

It’s the same brilliance of Pulp Fiction, i.e everything’s connected.

You forgot Kubrick and Scorsese for trunk shot There’s a doc on making of The Shinning Room 231, I think you can see on YouTube about Kubrick’s genius in The Shining.
