Yeah. I took the opportunity when asking Njuta Films about wheter or not "Mister Lonely" will be released on Blu-ray to mention that "Gummo" was worldwide not available on Blu-ray and I would pre-order it immediately...

Njutafilms responded today.

According to the response the Mister Lonely Blu-ray is already in production and will be released.

I guess following their website it got pushed to december though.

Just watched my copy of this. Man, this film is a masterpiece.

Blu-ray picture looks great. Region-free. Subtitles in different Scandinavian languages are totally optional. The one or two scenes with French dialogue feature burned-in English subtitles. Perfect English-friendly release to import. Only downside is lack of special features. I'm just really happy to have this film on blu-ray. I ordered from papercutshop.se after trying a couple places that didn't ship to North America.

After seeing this film in HD I'm even more convinced it's Korine's best work. It's still his biggest-budget film to date and that shows in the camera and music and cast. But it's also clear he had complete and total creative freedom. Werner Herzog's idea that films need to find "new images" instead of recycling things we've seen before - that spirit is alive in every scene of this film. It's delightful. And of course Herzog's actual cameo in the film is amazing.

Yeah. Great movie. A truly original film. And with real heart underlying the kinda 'random' humour. Well worth importing.

Interesting - I prefer "Julien Donkey-Boy" and "Gummo".
It's a travesty that Gummo isn't available on Blu-ray!
