Default Trying to find out name of very old movie i saw as a kid

Extreme shot in the dark here, but trying to find out a film I have a very very vague memory of watching on tv.

Its a vague memory from when I was very young and it has stuck with me, no idea why

Anyway the vague bits I remember are...

*Medieval knights fighting a monster with spears. The monster appearance i want to say was like a 15 foot king kong lol

* Something about the atmospehere of this scene/movie i think is why it stood with me as I remember lots of fog, almost horror in style.

* I want to say there was undead knights/ Witches but i have no visual memory of them just a feeling of it.

* Film was very old, possibly black and white.

and thats it

I don't expect anyone to know this but its annoying I cant put a name to it or watch it to see what it was truly like.

What year did you see this on TV? That information will help narrow it down. Thanks!

It would have been on TV in the late 80"s early 90's but the film in mind felt really old even for that time.

I want to say it was black and white but could have been colour.
