Michael Mann's "The Keep" - Blu-ray Forum

I don't know about anyone else, but I would LOVE to see "The Keep" get the release it DESERVES. Granted it is not the best movie. Michael Mann obviously went on to do much better films. However, this is a great B Horror film. This film has yet to get an OFFICIAL DVD or Blu Ray release. There is the VHS tape and the Laserdisc. That's IT.

Usually, Michael Mann is VERY good about getting his films released on Blu Ray and also doing Director's Cut's and adding tons of features. He is also good about RESTORING them when they are released.

WHY HASN'T "The Keep" RECEIVED THE SAME TREATMENT!!??

Thief has a great Criterion. Heat and Last of the Mohicans have a great Definitive Director's Cut. The rest of his films have Blu Ray releases.

PARAMOUNT PRESENTS should release "The Keep"!!!

Mann won't let it happen, basically. Kino tried to release it on Blu-ray a few years back and Mann was like, 'Lolno.' I think the issue is that Mann is only interested if he gets the opportunity to do a director's cut, but the materials simply aren't there anymore.

There is an official DVD in Australia, though. I don't know how that snuck past him.
