Rough Cut Video - Blu-ray Forum

I discovered a new boutique blu-ray retailer located in Calgary. The place is called Rough Cut video. I guess they opened up this past weekend, but i placed an order and will check them out. I'm looking for alternatives to UV, so this looks hopeful.

I ordered a copy of 101's The Seven Per Cent Solution BD to be picked up in-store. I got an email shortly afterwards that said it was ready for pick up, so I can't wait to check out the store!

I've placed multiple online orders with them, and the service is fantastic. The prices are competitive, and another nice feature is that they will add titles to their site if you ask.

Received my first order this week, and just want to echo all the positive points: shipping was quick & securely packed, and I reached out to Pascal about an upcoming preorder (and whether they would carry it) and heard back very quickly. I’ll be ordering from them again, for sure.

It took me a while, but I finally visited the store yesterday after work and I love it! I went in to pick up an online order and ended up buying a stack of Blu-rays. Chatting with Pascal, the owner, was awesome--he truly cares about physical media and is passionate about collecting. (And great to know that CUFF and Night Terrors Film Society are already impressed by it.) If you live in Calgary, you NEED to check the store out! If you're not in Calgary, there website is super easy and very detailed for ordering current releases and pre-releases.

Pretty cool to know about another Canadian shop. Looking quickly at their shipping prices: "$4.50 shipping per item. Free shipping for orders over $135. Heavier releases (box sets) will have a $7.99 surcharge added."

I now pop in there maybe once a month. Yesterday I grabbed the new Shout! Team America release for 32.99, To Live & Die In LA 4K and Needful Things 4K for 36.99 each (minus 13.xx I had in loyalty cash which you build up with purchases). Also nabbed an old Criterion laserdisc for The Graduate, as he has a small LD section (no Criterions left).

Yes, I saw all those LDs near the cash desk and was impressed! I didn't comb through them, as I never had LDs in the '90s (I was a poor English major at the time). I need to go back soon, but as someone who lives downtown and doesn't own a car, it's an Uber ride for me!

After constantly checking and refreshing, I was able to place an order for the upcoming Exorcist 4K Bible edition on Rough Cut's website. I'm still fuzzy on how they will have copies as that seems to be an Amazon UK exclusive.

The strong reviews here about their customer service give me peace of mind that I'll get my money back if something goes awry - and that it'll be carefully packed & shipped if it is indeed the correct item.

FWIW, I pre-ordered The Exorcist Bible edition from roughcut.ca. I just received an email that it is processing, so here’s to hoping i was able to snag a copy. Never heard of them until a few months ago, so I’m hoping they’ll come through since they seem relatively new. That, and I’m also ordering from the US.
