![]() ![]() I bought this disc and wanted to give an overview of it for anyone else interested. I really feel this film is an unsung masterpiece from Paul Greengrass, so I'm grateful to finally have it on BD. It's a dated HD transfer which appears to be the same one used for the original DVD. It has the Paramount Classics logo at the beginning and end. Luckily, since the film was shot on 16mm, the age of the transfer doesn't ruin the film, it's not like there's a massive amount of detail we're missing. Yes, a brand new 4K transfer of the negative would be ideal, but that was never going to happen with a title Paramount hasn't even bothered to release themselves. The image looks fine. As for the audio, the disc luckily includes both the original UK theatrical mix and the Paramount US remix. I can only assume that the remix was created to tone down the accents of the actors, much like the US mix on Trainspotting, but I haven't ever listened to the US mix to compare them. The good news is that both are present. The disc has all of the Paramount DVD's legacy extras. Better still, it even adds the extras from the UK Optimum DVD and the separate UK VCI DVD. It appears to have every extra ever created for this film, so it seems like a definitive edition.
