Helen Hunt, Olivia Munn to star in ‘Die In A Gunfight’

Oscar-winner Helen Hunt (As Good As It Gets), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Kaya Scodelario (The Maze Runner franchise), and Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Game films) have been tapped the star in action romance film Die In A Gunfight from The Mark Gordon Company. Marvel’s Ant-Man And The Wasp scribes Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari penned the screenplay, which has Animals helmer Collin Schiffli in the director’s chair.

The film follows two star-crossed lovers – Ben (Hutcherson) and Mary (Scodelario), who share an eagerness to break from the confines of their lives that fuels their passion for each other and leads to an all-out struggle for their love against a backdrop of corporate espionage, revenge, and a long-standing feud between their families.

Tom Butterfield, Mark Gordon, and Sunday Night’s Allyson Seeger are the producers while, Sara Smith of Mark Gordon will be an executive producer.

Lionsgate Acquires North American Rights To Thriller ‘Die In A Gunfight,’

Lionsgate has acquired North American rights to Collin Schiffli’s thriller, Die in a Gunfight, with plans to release it as a multi-platform title this summer.

In the film, starring Alexandra Daddario and Diego Boneta, an unpredictable collection of schemers and killers collide when Ben (Boneta) reconnects with his old flame Mary (Daddario) to fight for their love against cruel fate itself.

“Die in a Gunfight is a fresh and contemporary film packed with action, romance and twists at every turn,” said Lauren Bixby, VP of acquisitions and co-productions at Lionsgate. “Helmer Schiffli’s vivid and captivating style creates a high octane, edgy ride.”

Finally watched it. I love Diego Boneta and Alexandra Daddario but this was just bland and average. It's a decently made movie, I'll give it that. The amount of exposition dialogue in the beginning is insane.

This seems like an actionized take on Romeo & Juliet. Not that that's a bad thing, just an observation.
