Default Akira 4K HDR

A little confused due to Dec 2022 review (by Neil Lumbard, December 19, 2022)
of Akira 4k: “ The 4K UHD re-release is a superior presentation when compared to the earlier release from Funimation … the new 4K UHD is a vast improvement and offers a strong presentation (at last as it was intended to be seen)”

I was fortunate to receive the replacement disc for the original 4k release, which was missing HDR. Is the re-release referenced in the updated review the same 4K with HDR (and just commenting on the inclusion of HDR, similar to replacement disc,) or is it remastered /upgraded?

Why did this need its own thread and this question couldn’t have been posted in the Akira thread?
