While it'd be nice (I'm in favor of all TV on Blu-Ray), but 15 seasons would be a big undertaking. At most I could see them doing a test run with Season 1 and seeing how it sold, but I doubt it would sell enough for them to release the entire show.
We'll see though. Shows from the 90s haven't really been tested on Blu-Ray yet. |

Actually, All of the ER episodes (Seasons 1-15) were shot on Film!!!! So they are all widescreen except for a season 1 or 2 episodes that was shot like a news cast (Can't remember it for the life of me) So seasons 1-9 which were on NBC and showed in SD, are actually on film and transferred to Blu-Ray. Not a very big undertaking.

![]() But if they are releasing it I can see them perhaps pulling a 'Friends' and releasing Season 1 and The Complete Collection on the same day (or so we all think) It would cost a bomb though, shelling out on what would presumably be a 60 disc box set (15 seasons x4 discs). That would probably come to about $399.99 at around $270 with discount. ![]() |

i bet this will never see blu, all tvshows are shown HD but, i think they are scary to put out the blu because of the cost, look at The Good Wife only on dvd and could of been in Blu-ray, and they try to put The Sopranos on and its didn't sell

Don't be so sure. Friends is highly tipped to come out on Blu, and both shows (Friends and ER) are similar in terms of dates and filming locations.

Let's not forget, WB have also announced that they will begin releasing their classic cartoon library in high definition starting with Tom & Jerry later this year. Like Friends, if they sell well WB may start looking at their other catalogue shows, like ER. Out of all the studios WB seems to be the most forward thinking, and ER was the top rated show for years back in the 90's, along with newer fans there would be a huge amount of people willing to buy it, provided it's at a decent price.

The DVD boxset is huge. Got it for my birthday. They did a medibox one for seasons 1-10 a couple of years back, would've been nice with a similar packaging for 1-15, but I'm not complaining. Maybe the Blu would have something special.
![]() P.S. It is the best show EVER made ![]() |

There's just something about ER. I watched 10 seasons on TV, needed to pick up the Complete Collection to watch the earlier series. I was too young to watch the first seasons

I feel the exact same thing. When I rave about ER people just scowl and go "oh, that show about doctor's" and I'm like "But it's SO much more than that". Someone once said on these forums that people deserve to see their favorite shows in the best quality possible, even if it doesn't have a lot of effects, and ER deserves to be on Blu-ray. Thank God it was shot on film and not video!
By the way, it was originally supposed to end at Season 14 but due to the writer's strike they lost four episodes but then they got a whole extra season to finish it off. Thank God they did because seeing Doug, Carol, Benton, Corday, Weaver, Susan, Carter, Mark, Ray and I'm sure there's some I missed out was just the best thing ever! Some of my favorite episodes include 'Blizzard', 'Hell and High Water', 'The Long Way Around' and 'Exodus' just to name a few. But seeing as I've only seen a majority of the episodes once I would love the next few times to be on Blu-ray! Are any of the earlier episodes broadcast in HD because I was down my cousins house watching Sky Atlantic HD and they were showing some season three episodes, but her TV is so small it's hard to tell if they were upscaled or not. I mean, as long as HD transfers are available it would be cost effective for WB, rather than remastering the episodes from the original transfers which would not be cost effective. I think the only problem with releasing ER on BD is due to it's longevity. I mean, releasing a 15-season boxset on Blu would be very costly, although releasing them individually would take years and they may even stop releasing them halfway through if sales were low. Maybe if they released a bunch of three or five season volumes every few months, just so it's not ridiculously expensive and so it doesn't take five years to get them all on Blu! |
