Six Feet Under (2001-2005)

I've been working on retiring what's left of my DVD collection here as of late. If the given title has only ever been released on DVD I'll purchase the HD streams authoring to Blu-ray. This TV series (S1-S2: 1440x1080/29.970fps/DD+ 2.0 | S3-S5 1920x1080/23.976fps/DD+ 5.1) is the latest example of this as sadly, HBO still hasn't released the TV series on Blu-ray.

Below is what the TV series looks like from My Movies for Windows Media Center. Included below are links to my online profiles for the TV series which mirror my local DVD Profiler database, the "Overview" section of each profile including an "Episode List" and "Episode Guide" with images.

And here are screenshots of the Blu-ray menus I worked up for each season. Nothing fancy. Just a simple Top Menu for Title (Episode) selection. Gets the job done nicely. The TV series will span across 8 discs in this case. Seasons 1 and 2 will each fit on a BD50. Seasons 3-5 will each fit on a BD50 and BD25.

That being said, I'd love to see HBO give this TV series the Blu-ray treatment. In the interim the above will do nicely, especially considering the fact the HD streams for Seasons 1 and 2 were in the original aspect ratio, i.e. 1.33:1. If HBO were to ever release this on Blu-ray it's quite possible they'd go with 1.78:1 for Seasons 1 and 2. In any event, just thought I'd share. And here's to hoping HBO one day releases this fantastic TV series on Blu-ray.
