Revolutionary Road was incredible - Blu-ray Forum

I just watched this last night and imo what an incredible movie...I honestly think both Leo and Kate should have been nominated for Oscars (although not necessarily have won). Great performances, powerful story, and incredible music (that also should have been nominated). Anyone else agree/disagree?

%100 agree, I felt it had a powerful message and two phenomenal performances from Leo and Kate. Not to mention great AQ & PQ

Academy rules state that an actor or actress cannot be nominated multiple times in the same category, and they decided Kate Winlet's role in The Reader was a leading role (unlike the Golden Globes, where she won the Best Supporting Actress despite the obvious fact that she was the lead in The Reader), so she could only receive 1 nomination and that went to her role in The Reader.

ah right, forgot about that. i have to say i think rev road was the stronger performance, but that's just me. i definitely think leo should have been nominated, and i see he was for the golden globe.

edit: i see kate won golden globe for it, awesome

I thought it was very good and I am not really a fan of Leo... I missed the last 20 minutes of of it as I was watching it on a flight quite a few months ago. But I had read the book before so I know the ending but when I get the chance I will rewatch it properly.

Great performances, no doubt, but overall didn't like the story. Just not for me, I guess.

Great performance...crazy ending. Kate is the new Streep and Dicaprio probably will become the new DeNiro.

I agree so much and when I suggest this to people I do not know so well, I usually hear....WTF I hated that movie!! Then I do not like them

I watched this last night for the first time on Netflix.

What a remarkably delightful story about hope and the triumph of the human spirit.

...the ending was simply joyful.

I certainly agree. Kinda strange that the Academy didn't bite. It's right up their alley, and it's one hell of a Quality® film. Sam Mendes gets all the glory for American Beauty, but he's churned out some fine films ever since.

This film should really be shelved under psychological horror.

Captured the feel of the novel in an almost uncanny way.

Second time through was even more amazing,

Those performances, my dear God.

I don't think there is one frayed or crooked thread in the whole tapestry. 10/10
