My favorite is tied with Night Of The Living Dead for being the Grandaddy of the modern Zombie films and Return Of The Living Dead because it is beyond funny, entertaining, scary and very original at the same time! LOVE 'Em!

For me, nothing tops the original 1968 version of Night of the Living Dead when it comes to thrills, chills, and overall awesomeness.

The Val Lewton film, I Walked with a Zombie, is pretty darn amazing as well. Worth a mention here.

It's a great combination of a zombie movie and of the classic Jane Eyre story.

Dawn of the Dead is best for me because it was the point that Romero seriously realised the potential of the zombie as a social commentary device. Plus, it had some jaw-dropping moments of pure fear in it.

Most people hate it, but Day of the Dead is my favourite horror movie in this list (and ever). I LOVE the post apocalyptic vibe it has. And Bub is the coolest zombie imho.

It's a toss up for me between Dawn/Day...I voted Dawn though. Loved watching that one more growing up.
