Peanuts: Holiday Collection 4K Blu-ray

Home Entertainment (WBHE) is releasing some of Peanuts’ most beloved seasonal television specials on 4K Ultra HD for the first time ever, with Peanuts Holiday Collection, available October 10, 2017. Peanuts fans can now enjoy their favorite animated holiday classics in 4K Ultra HD resolution with High Dynamic Range (HDR), for the ultimate home entertainment viewing experience. This compilation is comprised of nine Peanuts TV specials, including classics It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown; A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and A Charlie Brown Christmas, which will be offered together in a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray™ Combo Pack. The Combo-Pack includes a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray™ disc with the episodes in 4K with HDR, a Blu-ray™ disc and digital version of all nine specials. Peanuts Holiday Collection 4K UHD will retail for $44.98 SRP.

Peanuts fans will also have the opportunity to purchase each of the three classic Peanuts holiday specials separately. Each will be sold in a 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray™ and Digital combo pack. Available separately on September 26, 2017, WBHE will offer It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown 4K UHD, which will retail for $29.98 SRP. This release will feature two bonus specials, including It’s Magic, Charlie Brown and Charlie Brown’s All-Stars.

On October 24, WBHE will offer A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving 4K UHD, which will retail for $29.98 SRP. Bonus specials featured on this release include The Mayflower Voyagers and Play It Again, Charlie Brown.

WBHE will offer A Charlie Brown Christmas 4K UHD on October 31, 2017. This release will retail for $29.98 SRP. Bonus specials featured on this release include It’s Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown and It’s Flashbeagle, Charlie Brown.

so $45 for all 3 or $30 each? So in real prices, that's $30 for the collection and $20 each. The collection price isn't horrible but who'd pay that much for the individuals.

Warner Bros. has been paying attention to "The Mummy" trilogy thread. The Peanuts collection set will now have similar packaging.

Certainly was not expexting that to happen. I do have to wonder how much better it can look though, I mean the animation was never the best quality to begin with. It can certainly look a lot more vibrant though, I guess. It's always looked a little washed out to me.

It would seem they could have included valentines day and other actually holidays though instead of throwaway like flashbeagle.

I wonder if we will end up with a 4k Rudolph though. That I think could look really impressive if done right.

I agree. These do not cry out for 4k releases. I'd rather have Warner concentrate on vintage films like The Searchers, Wizard of Oz, American in Paris, Bullitt, Enter the Dragon, etc.

With all due respect to the naysayers, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and A Charlie Brown Christmas are as significant to me as almost any other motion picture. I am stunned and thrilled to hear about this release!!!

Nobody is doubting that they are great specials, but like said above, how much better it's really going to be is questionable.

Of course. I was just having this conversation re: 4K versions of Ghibli films -- most of which were scanned at 6K for BD release. Higher resolution benefits the handpainted backgrounds more than the cel layer -- which as you point out, is probably already as finely resolved as it can be.

The improved color space is a different matter -- and by itself is the reason why I will upgrade to UHD.

What a great year this is turning out to be for UHD-BD!!!

I would love if the Ghibli films were released in 4K, i'd probably give one of my kidneys.

Really wish they would do this for all the specials (or really just a full BD set) but I never expected this and I can't wait.

Thinking about it, is this going to be the first UHD for cel-animated films? If this so it'll be interesting to see how the HDR pans out.
