Arrow will be releasing The Stuff (1985) on 4K in July! It will include a Limited Edition exclusive Blu-ray of the Pre-Release version of the film for the first time, remastered by Arrow.

OMG OMG OMG. A 4K edition of this classic, the recently discovered cut footage, the inclusion of the classic Larry Cohen commentary and new extras?! Damn. Arrow you give me so much. This will be a day one purchase. Here's hoping this will open the door to even more Lakeshore titles being upgraded, still waiting for House, CHUD, Blood Rage, etc.
I always hated the fug cover they used for the blu-ray, here's hoping this one is better.

Yeah, that Lakeshore library needs an upgrade. So many fun movies, including some that are still awaiting domestic Blu-rays. I hope this isn't a one-off. I'd love a 4K of VAMP, C.H.U.D. and House particularly.

I guess it's because the new footage only exists on a theatrical print that's been screened before so it may be beat up, but I'd still have been happy with a UHD composite of the negative and the print. Maybe with the different music and all of the extra footage, Arrow didn't bother with a reconstruction and just put the print scan on the disc (note that it says "remaster" as opposed to the main presentation's "restoration"). Definitely disappointing but it's not unlikely that the decision will make perfect sense when we see what the print looks like, 30 minutes of poor looking footage is a big chunk to invest in a second UHD disc.
