United Kingdom Documentary series/mini-series

A new series of Reported Missing starts on BBC One next Wednesday night at 9 pm. It was in the schedules earlier this year, but close to the airdate, it was removed from the schedules.

This Week on the Farm finished it's current series this past Tuesday evening/night (really enjoyed it. Something positive during the past few weeks). Replacing it next Tuesday is a new series of one of my favourite shows, The Yorkshire Vet (it's eleventh series).

Looks like it is indeed a new series of The Yorkshire Vet which has started tonight (on Channel Five), as the title sequence has a few differences from the last few, new episodes, shown earlier this year.

That was one of the best non-fiction programmes I've seen this year (referring to last night's season premiere of Reported Missing). Kept your interest throughout.

There are five editions in this new series.

Starting on Sky Crime next Sunday night (30th August) with a double bill, is HBO mini-series I'll Be Gone in the Dark (I think this is based on the Michelle McNamara book about the Golden State Killer case).

Have watched the first three parts of I'll Be Gone in the Dark. A very good mini-series so far. Goes into detail about the Golden State Killer case.

Starting next week is a new series of Crimewatch Roadshow (running from Monday to Friday mornings for three weeks on BBC One). The last series/season from earlier this year was cut short, due to you-know-what (about three or four editions short).

Also starting next week, is a new series (the fifth) of true crime documentary series Murder by the Sea on CBS Reality. It kicks off with a case in Bournemouth.

Finished watching last night the HBO mini-series (in six parts) I'll Be Gone in the Dark. A very good mini-series. Recommended.

Once I've finished the book I'm currently on, the next book I'm going to start on is Michelle McNamara's book.

Well this is interesting. There's probably an easy explanation for this. Started watching the first of a new (fifth) series of true crime documentary series Murder by the Sea (shown earlier tonight), and noticed that host Geoffrey Wansell has gone, replaced by a female presenter.

Did the last in the current, third series of Reported Missing air on BBC One tonight?

A new series of Ambulance (the sixth) starts on BBC One next Wednesday night. The previous two series were about the North West Ambulance Service (before that it was about the West Midlands Ambulance Service). The new series will be about London's Ambulance Service.

Compared to last night's new edition of Murder by the Sea, the first of a new series of Evidence of Evil tonight is business as usual (no changes to the presentation and the same narrator). The case in tonight's new edition takes place in Reno, Nevada.

One series which I wish was made available in it's entirety on other channels on Sky, is true crime documentary series Homicide Hunter (aka Lt. Joe Kenda: Homicide Hunter), especially now that it's ended in the States. It lasted I think for nine seasons, told from the viewpoint of the man himself (he reminds me of the actor who played the Cigarette Smoking Man on The X-Files, William B. Davis).

It was exclusive to C & I (aka Crime & Investigation), but some early episodes have also been shown on channel Blaze. I watched the first four or five seasons, but as I couldn't watch C & I later on, I haven't been able to see the last few seasons (the later seasons consist of around twenty episodes each).

Thought true crime documentary series The DNA of Murder with Paul Holes was finishing tonight on Sky Crime. Based on the incomplete episode guide on the IMDb, there are ten episodes in total (so it's on for three more weeks). One of the forensics experts helping him out on some of the cases, I've seen before on Cold Justice (she was in the first three seasons. When it returned after being away for a few years, she didn't return).

Before February this year, I don't think true crime documentary series Dateline had been shown on UK TV. It had been on every Friday night since, then it appeared to end two Fridays ago, as there was something else on instead last Friday night on Sky Crime.

However, it's back on tonight with an episode called "Black Friday" (the Sky TV listings has an alternative title, "The Black Friday Murder").

We're not getting a season of the show. They're random editions from recent seasons to further back.

A new true crime documentary special airs on Quest Red next Saturday night called The West Memphis Three: An ID Murder Mystery (it's on for three hours, including ads). I thought it was the documentary shown on Sky Crime recently, but it's a different title.

Airing on BBC Scotland next Tuesday and Wednesday night, and airing on BBC Two next Wednesday and Thursday night, is a two-part true crime documentary special called Murder Case.

Watching tonight's new edition of Ambulance, and while it's a very good documentary series, I've noticed that they seem to have speeded up the speed of the bits where they show the map over the local area (when they show the various calls made to the ambulance service's call centre). I have to fast-forward through those parts (especially after having that mild vertigo attack last weekend).

Tonight's new edition of The DNA of Murder with Paul Holes is the second part of a two-part edition, about a cold case in Atlanta, Georgia (the editions are called "Voice of a Killer" and "Killer Connection" respectively).

Two editions of the season left after tonight's edition.

Watched the above, this past Saturday night. Without ads, this feature-length true crime special was around two and a quarter hours long. A very good documentary (may end up watching the Sky Crime documentary series as well).

Airing this coming Saturday night on Quest Red is a two hour (including ads) true crime documentary special called The Lost Boys of Bucks County.

Can't remember the sub-title at the moment, but a feature-length true crime documentary was added to Netflix UK last week called American Murder.

Another top-notch edition of The Yorkshire Vet tonight (Friday on the Farm starts this coming Friday night). Can sense a (technically) second spin-off, centering around Donaldson's (an animal vet hospital). There was a segment in tonight's edition to do with Donaldson's.

Maybe there are further editions to come, filming was suspended because of you-know-what, or they only intended to have five editions in the fifth series, but last night's new edition of Murder by the Sea was the last in the series (based on CBS Reality's Facebook page).

Evidence of Evil continues next week though.
