Default What is happening to me?

Hi there,

I am having some strange thoughts as of late.

I have been pro blu ray from the very beginning, and I have even despised HD-DVD. I absolutely refused to give in when para***** decided to go red and my favourite Transformers was not to be blu.

With the warner announcement, and knew it couldnt be long until the war would finally end.

- now, why do I feel I chose wrong, and start to have second thoughts about the war?

I have NO IDEA _whatsoever_ why, but I just feel HD-DVD should have won, and I should never have gotten into blu? WTF is wrong?
With superior high-bitrate AVC, PCM for my old school 5.1 and +30 blu movies.... I DONT UNDERSTAND why. For some reason I wish I had +30 HD-DVD's and "we" won the war.

Nevermind, only loss right now is I stopped buying movies in general /:

Congratz to the blu community, I will get over it - I just find it extremely strange that I get these thoughts when the war is won for sure.

Do you also have strange feelings about your sexual orientation? Feel like your wife should leave you? Wish the Nazis won the war? Wanted to lose your job instead of some random guy at another company that didn't perform his job duties as well as you do?

I must say, I don't empathize with your newfound outlook.

Maybe a touch of HDM War Stockholm syndrome? empathizing with your captors?

It's probably a combination of many things. All the pro HD-DVD articles that are out there talking about how it should have won but didn't, The "clearance" pricing on players, and soon to be on disks, and the letdown after the great beginning of the month. It all adds up to make you wonder. When you're in a lull, like we are now for info, it feels like a deep valley because the Warner announcement was such a high peak. Leaves some susceptible and throw in the above articles and there you go...

Want to feel better? Go buy and watch some movies! Can I recommend Spiderman, BlackHawk Down, Sunshine, Dave & Tim:Radio City, Full Metal jacket, 2001, and any of ther other 500+ movies available on Blu

Yeah I would say it's guilt, and one way (blu side)or the other (red side), you would have feel guilt (if you were in the winning side). You are aware of what the red people are going through and you see that they are just like you, so you feel sorry for them and that brings guilt.

How so? I was giving examples of opposites that to him would most likely be less desirable than the present outcome of things. Blu-ray was the better format, he chose Blu-ray,....and now that it won he has a "strange" feeling that he feels like he wanted to be on the losing side and have it prevail? It makes no sense to me, and nothing I said was uncalled for.

The journey is always more exciting than the aftermath.

While the format war was at its height, there was a certain excitement in not knowing what was going to happen.

Now that the outcome is clear, you're coming off the stress "high", and wondering where it went.

Kick back, enjoy your movies, and move on with your life.

as you can see most studios are not having second thoughts about blu-ray. even some famous voice actors are directors are really putting out support to blu and not for hd-dvd like look at Michael Bay for instance he wants Hd-Dvd to die out and yet one of his most claimed movies goes to hd-dvd and yet he wants it on blu. you could always go format neutral as long as you still have support for blu-ray

You don't empathize because it makes no sense to you. The human being is really complex and everyone sees the world with a different pair of glasses. You have the right to not understand and not want to, but your not helping anyone with that kind of comment and it definetly add nothing to this discussion.

Anyone has read the title? He asked: What is happening to me?

At second thought, I would say: try to think of the first time in your childhood that you win something, or that you felt the same way you feel right now
(perhaps you have been on a winning side and than the other side was the right one). You are the only one that knows exactly what happened to you. So remember the situation (and you can keep it for yourself). Probably it will make sense to you.

After that thought, you'll understand that your feeling has nothing to do with what is happening in this format war. Then perhaps you'll be able to let it go and give yourself the right to be on a winning side without this feeling.

Itīs called empathy and shows you are a human being. (Thatīs a compliment)

But why did you stop buying movies?

You donīt have to feel bad for the other side, the possibility that one format could end up belly up was clear from day one. Anyone who bought into one of the formats knew that (or was really stupid, if he didnīt). Heck, iīm a "purple nurple" and donīt care much, because i win/am screwed either way.
