Germany What's the latest Blu-ray you've bought/received/watched? thread

Have double-checked (including asking a couple of members) and there doesn't appear to be an existing What's the latest Blu-ray you've bought/received/watched? thread in the Germany sub-forum (I know there is one in the France sub-forum. Have done a thread search but can't find a Germany thread).

Well, I could be here a while.

Bought a few German discs, ok, more than a few and watched a few. Amazon and their crazy multi buy offers.

Do you want pics in your thread? Definitely got enough pics of the German sourced discs.

This may be a DVD only but I still wanted to get it as I think it's a great film. Timestalkers - William Devane buys an auction lot with some old west photos and notices a person Klaus Kinski carrying a weapon that hadn't been invented yet.
Great concept and if you enjoy time travel films then you should get a kick out of it.

Well, this is one of those days where I've found out about a film I hadn't heard of before, Timestalkers (thanks for your contribution ). Interested in seeing it because of William Devane starring in it. Based on the year it's credited with, unless it was filmed and left on the shelf for a few years, it was made when Devane was established on drama series Knots Landing (he joined the show a few years prior). Also among the cast of Timestalkers is Lauren Hutton (several years after American Gigolo) Cheers' John Ratzenberger, Tracey Walter and John Considine.

The Pidax DVD release is in the DVD section of the database here. Have checked the IMDb company credits page for the film, and it appears there was another German DVD release by a different boutique label.

No problem with pictures of German titles in this thread. I started a thread in DVD Movies earlier this year for non-US/Canada and UK DVD titles:

Thanks for posting the above pictures of your German Blu-ray purchases in this thread. When you get round to watching them, would be interested to read your comments on The Internecine Project and Come Play.

Have been meaning to ask, have you got the German Blu-ray release of western Taggart (not to be confused with the long-running Scottish detective drama series of the same name )? It was shown on UK TV channel Legend a few Saturdays ago. The month it appeared on preview series Legend Lowdown, I could not see it having aired. Then a few weeks ago I saw it in the evening listings. Subsequently, I discovered it had had a German Blu-ray release after all (could swear I'd searched for it on here prior to that and couldn't find a listing).

Knew you'd have a copy of the German Blu-ray release of western Taggart. Thanks for the helpful reply.

Saw a post in the What's the latest Blu-ray..? thread in the North America sub-forum yesterday, where a member had posted about watching the Kino release of the film The Holcroft Covenant (the cast including Sir Michael Caine). Subsequently checked the database and saw that it has also had a German Blu-ray release (have you got the German release?).

Sounding like a cracked grammophone record here. The film The Rosary Murders (the cast including Donald Sutherland and Charles Durning), Kino released it on Blu-ray but that appears to be out-of-print. Have checked the Blu-ray section of the database here and there has also been a German release. Do you have the German release, and if so, are there any extras/bonus features?

No I haven't got that one. Back of the box suggests a trailer is the only extra.

Thanks for taking the time to reply anyway. If I didn't spot the rear sleeve boxart on here, I put it down to having had a senior moment.

No mate, it wasn't on here, you're still sane. It was on Amazon Germany. Some discs have back cover info but most do not. This one did.

I've found on here that a picture of the rear sleeve boxart isn't always on DVD and Blu-ray listing pages. It can happen on Amazon as well.

Have checked the Blu-ray.com review of the Kino release, and it too had just a theatrical trailer as an extra. Checked the cast list to see who the actress was in one of the example screencaptures (it's Belinda Bauer (the name rings a bell. Their screen credits include Flashdance and Robocop 2).

Four for 59 EUR from last weeks Capelight deal. I only wanted Limbo and A River Runs Through it. But for 15 EUR each, why not.

Germany Questions about German Blu-ray releases

UK TV channel Talking Pictures showed last night early-seventies film Fuzz (the cast including Burt Reynolds, Raquel Welch and Yul Brynner). Watched a short bit of the film and subsequently have checked for a Blu-ray release. Kino released it in the States and there has been a German release: does anyone have the German release and how is the transfer and audio?

Also, does anyone have the German Blu-ray releases of Killer Cain (aka More Dead Than Alive), Pyewacket and Summer of '84? How are the transfers (with the last film, I dithered and missed out on the US release by Gunpowder & Sky with the milk carton extra)?

I do have them but I can't tell what they're like because I haven't watched 'em yet. Story of my life.
All English friendly and there's a couple of different mediabook covers for Killer Cain also. That's the boggo standard one below.

Fuzz

Killer Cain

Pyewacket

Summer of '84
