I thought it was good, but not great. But damn, this is gonna look sweet in 4K HDR.

Nice to see a release announced with a documented 4K DCP.

I really loved this film. It was an unique experience, where I really felt I was in that world. Beautiful locations, 40 minutes shot with Arri Alexa 65. Great cinematography.

This will be the new demo disc. PQ/AQ.

This can very well be my 1st 4K movie as I've seen this in theaters and really enjoyed it. I know for a fact I won't have a 4KUHDBDP for at least a year (including a new TV)... maybe a little longer, but I think I will go ahead and start buying the newer releases on this format as they come out so I don't end up double dipping.

This could be the film that persuades the Mrs that upgrading is a good idea.

I have little interest in upgrading to 4K but I am tempted to get this version in the event of that I do upgrade. Maybe if the price is right (and if it comes with a slip as well!), I'll go with this one.

I'm intrigued to see if they feel compelled to add a new HDR grade to this release (so they can employ that shiny sticker).

There was a Dolby vision version, but this disc won't support the format

I bet it'll utilize the same grade (or a version thereof), though.

Maybe, Dolby may have the rights to that version or some weird legal hold on it.

Theater grades are different than home tv grades.

Not to mention, a home grade in DV would need to have an HDR10 base layer.

Right, but one would presume that the aim of the home tv grade would be to maintain (compromised) fidelity to the theatrical grade.

Of course.

Ive seen a few comments by some "pros" that seen certain movies in Dolby Vision HDR and also seen it in HDR10 Disc now that discs are out, and they have said that the disc HDR versions are very comparable to what they seen in theater.

Of course the biggest difference may be that the home versions are graded for 1000 nits while the theater versions are much less.

They are not original, they are changed...
Is it really that difficult for people to see?
