That's something you have to see for yourself..and what your wallet tells you is it worth the extra cost. Remembering also that next year's tv's will be better than that.

Re Sony, they're not dependable for firmware updates at the moment. Therefore, current OLED recommendation is LG G1 for its apparent overall capability. Related: https://www.t3.com/us/features/lg-g1-vs-sony-a90j |

The review has been taken down, what’s wrong with the new Panasonic?

It's basically not as good as last year's HZ2000 for traditional TV/movies. Why exactly is anyones guess. Vincent thinks it's due to the mediatek chip that had to be implemented for hdmi 2.1 ports.

I've tried to do some searching and from comments I've gathered it's near black and gradient handling that have taken a huge dive in order to force 2.1 gaming features onto a chip that isn't really suitable for it. So sounds like we're back to the sort of quality early generation OLEDs were giving.
So, if that is indeed what's going on (and I'll know when the video pops back up) sounds like Panasonic have gone from top of the current OLEDs to right at the bottom on their flagship in one fell swoop. Bizarre and very disappointing. I was merrily recommending Panasonic's as the best OLEDs as well as planning my next OLED purchase to be a Panasonic (whenever that would have been, can't justify replacing my B8 yet). Not any more. Time will tell how their other 2021 models will compare, but for now it seems Sony and LG own the market again* (both having very well reviewed top-end 2021 models, and decent lower speced models) *I know Phillips do OLED as well, but does anyone pay them much attention? I know I don't. I'm aware of them being there, but no one ever raves about them in preference to the others. |

With some "adjustment", it could be back up soon. He's supplied alternate links for viewing that review. Related: https://twitter.com/vincent_teoh?lang=en |

I bought the A90J as my primary use is movies and gaming is a distant secondary use. I have no regrets.
