Can't be bothered to read the article - Is this just another manufacturer discontinuing recordable BD-Rs? There will always be someone taking up the mantle if its hardware. The good news is players will just be better made, not assembly line junk you typically see at Walmart.

I didn't even know Pioneer was still making Blu-ray drives. Hell, I didn't even know Pioneer still was making ANYTHING other than car-radios.

Sad- laserdisc would’ve been a failure if they hadn’t stuck with it as long as they did. Article does say someone else bought their drive manufacturing.
