Wait to watch Assassination of Jesse James? - Blu-ray Forum

Hey guys i recently got the DVD version of The Assassination of Jesse James, I have never watched it, should i watch it now or wait until after February to watch it on blu-ray? I really want to watch it.

If you want to see it that bad, and can still stand standard def, I say go for it.

But make sure you watch the BD when it comes out too, because fromt he reviews I read, it is a very 'artistic' film, and should make for some great visuals.

iam buying it on blu no matter what so don't worry about that.

Honestly I would wait. The cinematography is amazing and it's just all around a beautiful movie that DVD will not do justice. If you have a PS3, download the HD trailer from the PSN network

That'll help you decide.

haha that trailer on PSN is the only reason iam here asking this question and not watching the movie.

I want this movie so bad. But there's no lossless audio.

My basic rule for Blu-ray purchase:

1. 1080p Full HD Video
2. Lossless Audio

Warner should be more serious in releasing BDs, now that they are going exclusive. I was OK with previous titles, thought they we testing the market by being neutral at that time.

Ok but they're not exclusive yet... So this title should fall into the same catagory as the previous titles. And who knows, maybe lossless/uncompressed audio wouldn't even help this title much.

How did you get this title on DVD so early? I thought all the releases for this movie comes out Feb. 5th.?

nah but i watched it and it is a great movie and really emotional, i will definitely be buying on blu though.

I got the blu-ray copy yesterday (as it is available in HKG already). PQ not really stunning as I found many grain. AQ is so so as it is only DD+. I think this is not a big budget movie. The movie itself is quite slow but acting is very good.

Okay, so I went loking for the trailer in the PS Store but couldn't find it. Is it only available outside Canada?

guess I'll have to watch it the old fashioned way - on my computer, but i would have much prefered it on my big screen.

yea it is a low budget kind of film, but the acting is one of the best i have ever seen. Iam dissapointed to hear that the blu-ray version of this movie isnt as high quality as the trailer on PSN

it is in the theatrical trailers in the US store. i have made many accounts one for every store(UK,JAP,HK) i suggest you do the same so you dont miss out on any content.

I don't know, dude. He said his problem with the picture was that it had GRAIN. And as we all know, if it was shot on film, it's gonna have grain.

It should still look good.
