Any love for this out there? It's a stunning film and would defintely look good in HD. Warp never seem too active in the blu-ray market unfortunately so not sure if this one is likely... |

I saw the film in the theater whenever it was released, and I've seen it on DVD at least once since then. Unfortunately, the DVD is OOP. So, a Blu would be hugely welcome. |

I love the source novel by Alan Warner, so I was very pleased with the film adaptation when I saw it in the theatre back in '02 (or was it '03?)--I was impressed that Lynne Ramsay didn't hold back from the more disturbing aspects of the novel. The film is one of many indie films from the late 90s-early 00s that I would love to see on blu-ray, even if there was a Region B blu-ray!

Yes, IIRC MC was in theaters around 2003 - I remember seeing it then, at a small indy theater in my area. It definitely never hit the mainstream cinemas (at least not in the U.S.). |

One of my favorite movies. Saw it completely alone in a huge theater on New Year's Day and it blew my mind. Went back and saw it again that same night, then many midnight screenings to come. Distinctly remember becoming aware of its brilliance about 20 minutes in. Also distinctly remember being underwhelmed by the DVD release by Palm. Not sure if the problem was theirs or if it's the type of movie that doesn't 'play' on a TV -- jaw-dropping cinematography and scant dialogue often suffer without a giant screen. Still, it's time for Criterion or Masters of Cinema to give this movie a proper blu-ray release. There's no other film remotely like it.
