is there a place to find out where a thread was moved/merged?

i was browsing in the blu-ray deals forum, and when i refreshed the page, a thread i was viewing (the best buy ad for 4/4-4/11) suddenly disappeared and gave me the generic error message? i went back to the main thread list and checked in the dead deals subforum and a couple others, but didn't see it or anything that it might've been merged into.

maybe it got changed into a private thread or something? i've seen individual posts disappear before, but an entire thread for last week's ad suddenly disappearing is a little confusing for me as a relatively new user. anyway, thanks for any help!
