Beware, most… if not all, WB France non-4k releases have DD+ Atmos for the english audio tracks

France and Germany always got english DD+ Atmos track on BDs, while local language track (FRE and GER) is DDTrueHD Atmos (speaking about movies having Atmos track, of course): that's why USA/UK BDs never share BDs with FRA/GER (ENG track is always DDTrueHD Atmos in USA/UK)

I wonder if it will be the same steelbook as the Fnac special edition or another one. (it would mean that 3 steelbooks would be available, which is too high in my opinion)

Hi

Does anyone know whether this release will have forced French subtitles when listening to the English soundtrack? With previous French purchases sometimes this occurs, generally smaller studios - however I am not sure with WB releases.

It won't have forced subtitles. There's no better studio than WB for ensuring that international releases will play in English with no subtitles (other than the ones for foreign language parts).

Do you know if there is an option for English subtitles on an international disc like this? Or would the only option be French?

I was also thinking about scenes like the beginning, "DREAMS ARE MESSAGES FROM THE DEEP". Would that be in French, regardless of the closed captioning setting?

One of the best films of the year, and it's the one I'm going with. Steelbook, 4K, AND the 3D version? I'm all in on this. I'm still an avid 3D collector, and while my viewing of 3D blu rays has gone down due to the 3D set being replaced with an amazing new 4K one in the living room, we still do have our 3D viewings in the spare room, and I will continue to support all 3D releases. As I said, for me, this is the version to get as it covers all bases.

It will have English subtitles, and all on-screen text, subtitles, and title cards will be in English.

4K will contain ENG TrueHD Dolby Atmos. As far as regional Atmos is concerned that i do not care. Even if it's AAC :P.
Because of space there's no room on it if i remembered correctly. That's why 2nd Atmos can only be as DD+.

Does anyone know if the French version from this new dune release has the IMAX switching? I heard somewhere but can’t remember that it may have

It's the same 4K and 3D transfers that the rest of the world got. So, no IMAX ratios.

If we order the French steelbook, will the 3D blu ray disc play just fine here in the US?

I assume all the menus, etc. will also be in English by default anyways?

As for the 4K disc, that is region free, so that's good, but importing it means no digital code so that's something to consider.

The 3D disc will be region free. Can’t guarantee the menus will be in English but I’d say it’s probably a safe bet.
