I actually thought this would be coming from Shout just like the Death Day films, Upgrade, and other Uni titles but either way, I knew holding off was a good idea.

I just flat-out don't buy Blu-ray Disc only releases of new films. I would rather watch them digitally until their 4K UHD release, assuming they have one. These studios ain't catching me with their double-dipping bull@$#&.

Guess I’m glad I didn’t pick this up yet. Really enjoyed the movie and I was gonna pick it up for the holidays this year but awesome I’ll just wait until the 4K hits!

It's been this way for a few years now. Universal releases the Blu-ray first and then the 4K comes out a year later. This is mostly for genre films though (horror, action).

Drama titles released on Blu-ray are (mostly) not getting 4K upgrades.
