Australia Scream Announced

I was suprised to see yesterday while looking at ezydvd.com.au that 'Scream' has been slated for a 4th November release! I can't wait to get this one. I wonder when 'Scream 2' and 'Scream 3' will be released? Hopefully soon.

Scream is a must in HD for me; one of my all-time favourite movies. I has humour and blood, my two favourite things. Since it seems to be a Dendy exclusive, I might wait to see how picture quality is.

Exellent, just wish they would come out as a trilogy set, I would buy them again, alot of people didn't like 2 or 3, but I think they are all great.

Description says letterboxed. Are we talking 4x3 here folks? Be a shame if Icon released it that way.

4:3 is delineated as "full frame." What you're worrying about I think is whether its anamorphic: which means whether the image is presented as a 4:3 television in the centre of your widescreen TV with black bars on top and bottom.

My impression is that letterboxed should refer to black bars on top and bottom of screen; doesn't necessarily mean non-anamorphic. I would assume this is going to be an anamorphic widescreen presentation. Hi def is a high quality format, and distributed by an arthouse company like Dendy, it won't be pan and scan, and it won't sit in the middle of your screen, it will anamorphically stretch out to fill your screen, don't worry. I'll be a monkey's uncle if it doesn't. (Or, more realistically, I'll await reviews in case I'm wrong)

Bring on the U.S. release!

Can anyone confirm if this is the director's cut with the extra gore?

An example of the uncut footage can be seen here, at 2:35.

Good to know. Most of the online stores list it as DISTRIBUTION DELAY.

Yeah, I noticed JB and EzyDVD both say that. I'm tempted to purchase, but I'm hoping to see a review before I throw down the cash.

I haven't seen it but I really want to. I'm thinking of heading down to JB tomorrow and picking a copy up if they have it.

Weeks after release day and Ezydvd still "distribution delay." I hope Dendy weren't joking when they said they could make blu rays...
