Da FAQ, YOU SAY!!!!!!!! I'm soooo down for this!!!! This is an easy top-five Italian zombietrash phenomenon. If you asked me a year ago, I would never have thought there'd be even a remote chance of this title landing on 4k. Total must-have.

Now, how has this crucial, world-changing thread been posted for 20 whole minutes without hordes of rabid fans chiming in? Shame on you all!!!!

I wonder if Synapse, seeing all these 88 Films 4k Italian zombie releases dropping in 2023, will get off their haunches and finally drop a sexy new steelbook of Let Sleeping Corpses Lie in proper 4k uhd, later this year. It's already been over two years since they released that title in a deluxe steelbook edition with a standard blu ray. 2023 could just prove to be the year of the 4k Euro-Zombie invasion.

All that stock nature footage will really "pop" in Dolby Vision!

I think Synapse overestimated the consumer demand for LDaMM. They pressed 6000 steelbooks of that one, the same as their run for SUSPIRIA, but the SUSPIRIA steelbook sold out in like 3 months, and it took well over a year for Synapse to sell enough MORGUE steelbooks to justify a standard Blu-ray release, and I believe the steelbooks are still available. I don't think it's a coincidence that the print runs for Synapse's follow-up steelbooks were so much lower in quantity.

88 confirmed that the missing frames due to print damage which caused audio jumps on the old HD master has been fixed on this new 4K.

I agree with your assessment, and believe that part of their issue with moving 6,000 standard blu ray LDaMM steelbook units was the $59 price point, for just a standard blu ray release. This caused two things, folks unwilling to pay that price point for a standard blu, and also an equally large number of folks deciding to specifically sit back with their wallets closed and just wait for the inevitable 4k uhd, which almost always seems imminent these days once a boutique announces it is working with new 4k scans from an ocn of a film.

I always thought 'Zombie Creeping Flesh' was the more catchier title - Hell of the Living Dead sounds a bit ho-hum...but the film is great fun whatever its called.

I only found out last year that the priest was played by the same guy who played the ill-fated baggage man in 'Horror Express'...

Still pinching myself that this is really happening.

Man oh man, 88 Films, please please please, for the love of God, do NOT FUBAR the pizzle out of all these Italian zombiefest masterpieces in 4k uhd.....

What was the verdict on their first UHD, Drive? Feels like it kinda just came and went.

An excellent question. I never bought it. But from a bit of lightning-fast research, this site's review, after saying it is generally a 'winning presentation", nonetheless describes the grainfield on the 88 Films Drive 4k as "often...pretty clumpy and tinged with either yellow or blue" (sounds kinda like the funky grain on VS's poorly encoded release of Death Wish 2 4k uhd, perhaps). The reviewer bizarrely didn't feel that increased resolution of the 4k format was "always a very complimentary or a consistent friend to the grain resolution" of a grainy older film, which is complete rubbish since 4k renders grain in a far superior fashion to standard blu ray. So perhaps one could speculate that the encode may be in question, and the reviewer is blaming it on the increased resolution of 4k? Clearly nothing credible to be concluded there. A forum member or members are also describing "a lot of vertical (apparently greenish?) lines/stripes running across the screen" for portions of the run-time, further described as "very noticeable on bright backgrounds". That's mainly what I've seen so far that would tend to raise my eyebrows a bit. Some general comments otherwise looked mostly positive but noncommittal. I really have no idea what to expect from 88 Films on this format in the coming months. Nervous Papa here, waiting.....anxiously. I feel dirty. Ooh, my first time with 88 Films on 4k....will they hurt me, or will it feel soooooo good to be a bad old filthy zombie-lover....
