Default HD DVD's #1 Fangirl Strikes Again!!

HD DVD's number one fangirl thinks Toshiba have got a chance!

Quote:
Toshiba Goes for Super Bowl TD
January 25, 2008
It looks like Toshiba has booked a HD DVD commercial to run during the Feb. 3 Super Bowl. Could this be the 'Hail Mary' pass that changes format war momentum? After news that Blu-ray represented a whopping 90% of all high-def sets sold for the week ending Jan. 12, HD DVD is in danger of being in that fourth and long position on the format war field. But a Super Bowl ad would get it out to the perfect audience most primed to desire a high-def set-top.

You gonna love who she links to for the story!

It's just too bad that everyones going to be watching the Superbowl on their new TV. That happens to have their brand new free Blu-Ray player sitting under it.

HD-DVD lost. Nice try with the football analogy though... "HD DVD is in danger of being in that fourth and long position on the format war field." -classic lol (game was already over in the 2nd quarter)

Um... what makes you think she's HD-DVD's #1 fangirl? A lot of her blog posts are about Blu-ray. Her piece was objectively written. If anything, it's very pro-Blu in that she mentions Blu-ray's 90% market share and the fact that this is Toshiba's "hail mary" (ie. we're gonna need a miracle).

have you read it? anyone that publicly states that HD DVD has a chance can't be in their right mind. As for mentioning BD is 90% and it is a "Hail Mary" play, it is VB, anyone that reads her article already knows it, it is not as if, as she used for her info, she is posting on HDD, she can't say that even though the official numbers are 90% that they must have missed something and they are realy 45% BD and 55% HD DVD. If you want a more realistic football analogy, there is only time for one last play, BD has the ball 1 yard from the line and is winning by 14 points.

I like all the responses to her blog though. They're pretty much all pro Blu.

People watch the Superbowl commercials because they are known to be clever or funny. The only ones people remember are the clever and funny commercials. Somehow I doubt Toshiba's commerical will be either of those two things. Maybe they will try something stupid with Shrek again. oooh or those stupid Bee Movie guys.

Some people need to lay off the crack.....

Here is what I added....

Quote:

Eli and Tom are both right....

Are you honestly trying to equate this with football.....

"That would definitely bode well for the HD DVD camp."

Are you even serious.... More like delusional...

hd-dvd is hd-dead.

"HD-DVD, The Look and Sound Of Crickets In The Basement"

Oh and ummmm...

SCOREBOARD!

Suzanne, you are a complete idiot. Anyone can see that HD DVD lost, one commercial in the Super Bowl will not help as when they go to buy the player, the sales reps will be telling them "don't you know that HD DVD lost" and will explain why it's pointless to buy an HD DVD player. Suzanne, you are the #1 HD DVD cheerleader, that much is obvious. YOur articles are just bafflingly stupid.

Toshiba needs to wake the F up and start production on their hybrid players. What's their Superbowl ad going to say? "Um, we like have cheap players and you can buy the Bourne movies... and WB flix while they're still in stock". What they should do is come on and go "the war is over, we concede. We lost but we value you, the consumer. We are working on a hybrid player that will play blu-ray movies as well as the current hd dvd collection you were unfortunate enough to have bought".

GEEZ...
